Hey guys, welcome back to another review. I was exploring Agra on Saturday and visiting my clients. I had some business meetings, but you know about the rain situation in Agra right now.
It was raining so much that I got stuck, so I decided to visit a nearby cafe or restaurant that day. I ended up going to Barco’s Chinese Restaurant in Tajganj, Agra.
It was completely out of the blue because I wasn’t planning to visit any restaurant that day. I didn’t even have eating out in mind, but they just made me do so.
The main thing that caught my attention was that they were serving Chinese veg, non-veg, as well as seafood. Being a fully vegetarian person, I wasn’t interested in the non-veg or seafood options.
The only thing I was interested in was the veg food, and being a Momo eater myself, I decided to taste the real momos. It is a Chinese restaurant, and all of India calls momos a Chinese dish, so I decided to go for veg momos.
And to be honest, I was totally surprised. The momos I have been eating for 10 or 15 pieces for around ₹100 were completely different from these.
Here, I paid around ₹355 for eight pieces, which was kind of worth it. The taste was totally different from the momos I have been eating previously.
The garlic, the chilli, and the chilli chutney they offered were totally, totally, totally different. For me, it was a completely different experience.
I enjoyed all eight pieces, and after that, the rain finally stopped, so I decided to come back home. But you know, whenever I visit any cafe or restaurant, I make sure to check a few important factors.
So I decided to write a proper review of this cafe and also got some clippings and clicked some pictures, which I am sharing in this article. Let’s see how this is going to be.
So this time, my experience was totally awesome. The staff was totally awesome as well. They communicated everything clearly, like what this is, what that is, and what I am going to get if I order veg momos or any other dish there.
The menu was totally different. They had clearly mentioned the non-veg items on the menu, which were separated properly from the veg items with a green dot, a red dot for non-veg, and blue for seafood.
My experience was awesome, and I got my order in around 20 minutes. Then I took a few bites, and I was totally surprised by the taste.
I felt like I had been eating the wrong momos for the last four years. But you know, those wrong momos support your pocket because you can’t go for eight pieces for ₹355 plus GST every single time.
And honestly, that is the only problem. The taste was great, but my pocket is not going to support me if I start eating those momos every time.
And you know, when I visit a place, I look for 5 things in that café. The same goes for Berco’s, Taj Road, Agra.
- How it looks.
- The staff of the café.
- The taste of the food and beverages, along with the cost.
- How accessible the place is for people.
- How comfortable it is for couples.

When it comes to the looks, I will say it was not that Instagram-friendly. As you know, most people go for the ambience, and it was, I will say, simple but catchy.
There was a dragon on the wall and a few Chinese portraits as well. It was simple because the space was not too big, and it was not a large restaurant, to be honest.
According to the space in the restaurant, everything was good and properly set up for a decent gathering. I can’t say the exact numbers, but you can remember around 50 people.
They can hold up to 50 people, which is nice. So, say if you are really looking to taste Chinese food, and I’m talking about the Tajganj franchise, then you can go there to eat.
And if you are looking to click some pictures and post them on social media, then also you can do it. But as you know, it is not as Instagram-friendly as today’s cafes and restaurants are.

I will say the staff was totally nice and very communicative. When it comes to communication, they clearly explained everything to me.
This was the first time I ever visited a Chinese restaurant, or any restaurant that was mainly serving non-veg and seafood. So they explained everything to me and suggested the best.
So I’ll say the staff was totally nice, and they made sure that the customer would visit them again. They also asked for my feedback after I finished my meal.
So I’ll say it was a totally worth-it experience for me when it comes to communication with the staff. They also helped me take pictures, and some of the pictures I took were taken by their staff members only.
So, totally awesome experience this time, I’ll say.
The taste of the food and beverages, along with the cost.
When it comes to the taste, it was awesome, as I mentioned before. Also, I tasted kind of real Chinese for the first time, as we all know that momos are not supposed to be veg, based on the history of momos.
How they were created and where they were found, they used to be non-veg by nature. But in India, you know, you can’t be a successful restaurant if you are only serving non-veg or seafood.
Because most people want to taste the veg form of non-veg dishes. So I will say, taste-wise, the momos were awesome.
The garlic and the chilli chutney that you usually get with the momos were also not that spicy, unlike what I usually taste on the street or at any other normal momo shop. They have just made it awesome.
It was awesome. The taste felt different; the taste was different. I totally liked the taste, I will say. I loved the taste.
Because I have eaten momos at so many places, I can tell the difference clearly. So I’ll say they were worth a visit.
I can’t say about the non-veg and seafood because I have not had anything non-veg. So if you are visiting for the non-veg and seafood, it is your take on that.
I have no suggestion for that because I haven’t tried it. But when it comes to the veg momos, I will say it is an awesome place.
You must go and visit at least once and try it yourself.
How accessible is Berco’s Chinese Restaurant, Tajganj, Agra for people?
When it comes to the accessibility of Berco’s Chinese Restaurant, Tajganj, Agra, I would say it is kind of hidden. It is not clearly visible from the road, but if you are exploring, then you can find it.
It is on the other side of the TDI, near other new hotels and restaurants, and just near the NYC Nothing Before Coffee new outlet. So if you know the area, it becomes easier to find.
When it comes to visibility, I will not say it is pretty visible because there are so many things there. You have to find it if you are specifically looking for it.
You know, right now, you have to Google everything, so you can easily find it on Google Maps. But if you are just passing by, it will not be visible to the eye.
It is mostly hidden by the trees and all. The location is fine because there is a hotel nearby, so I guess they may be getting a decent amount of customers from there as well.
Also, it is near the Taj Mahal, so this is also a reason they will be getting plenty of customers. I have not asked them about that thing, but I’m sure about it because I know that place very well.

How comfortable is Berco’s Chinese restaurant for couples?
Guys, if you are totally looking for a cozy place, it is not the place where you should go to because the area is very small. There is nothing like you can have a private moment and all.
But if you are looking to taste something Chinese and trying to get a good taste of momos and all, then I’ll say it is a place for you. You can click decent pictures as well.
Surprisingly, this time also, there was a family sitting there as well as a couple too. But they were eating; they were sitting there to eat, not for private, cozy stuff and all.
Because I know most Agra people, especially couples, visit these places, cafes and restaurants for their moments. But this is not the place if you are looking for those moments.
So I hope you got it. This was totally my experience, and everything was a surprise because it was raining outside.
