As my café journey continues, I’ve moved on to another café, and this time, my experience was quite different. I’d say every place has its own vibe, and this one definitely had something unique about it. There were a few things that really caught my attention, and one of them was the menu.
I saw a few things here that I honestly hadn’t seen before. I’m not just talking about the ambience, but also the aesthetics and the little details around the café. What really surprised me was the menu.
There were some unusual options, and one thing I tried was Hello Yellow.
It was basically a juice made with pineapple, chia seeds, and rock salt. The taste was definitely different, but in a good way. I actually enjoyed it, and it was quite refreshing.
I was also surprised by the variety of options on the menu. There were all sorts of juices and drinks, along with plenty of other things to try.
Overall, the ambience was good too. It’s a nice place to sit, relax, and just vibe for a while.
I ended up spending almost four hours there. During that time, I noticed quite a few things—from how the staff interacted with customers to my own conversations with them.
I also tried their coffee, and I’d say the coffee was without the froth or foam—whatever people call it—because I personally don’t like foam. The coffee was called White Shot, I guess.
You know, now that I have visited two cafés, I have a clearer idea of what a café needs to have when it comes to creating positive vibes and making people want to spend time there.
And you know, when I visit a place, I look for 5 things in that café. The same goes for Café Sidewalk, Taj Road, Agra.
- How it looks.
- The staff of the café.
- The taste of the food and beverages, along with the cost.
- How accessible the place is for people.
- How comfortable it is for couples.
All these five things basically give you a clear idea about the café, the overall experience, and the staff. So, when I visited Café Sidewalk, I considered all these factors as well.
Sidewalk Café | Taj Ganj, Agra: How It Looks
When it comes to the looks, I would say it was fine, and I really enjoyed the vibes inside the café. They also have a projector set up inside, where people can watch different things. When I visited, they were playing old Mr. Bean episodes on it, which actually added a nice touch to the overall vibe.
The overall ambience was good and matched the theme of the café. The furniture was comfortable at the same time, and the café was quite spacious too. I mean, a large number of people can gather there, and they have more seating capacity than London Coffee Club, which is just nearby.
But again, both cafés have completely different concepts, so I wouldn’t really compare them directly.
Sidewalk Café Taj Ganj: The Staff of the Café
I will say the café staff was mostly friendly, and they answered all my questions and served well. When it comes to serving, I enjoyed the café, and the staff was supportive.
As I always mention, for a café, the most important thing is the café staff because it can attract more customers. Communication matters, and so does how they really treat you when it comes to serving and everything else.
I will say Sidewalk has nice staff.
Sidewalk Café Taj Ganj: The Taste of the Food and Beverages, Along With the Cost
As I have mentioned above, I tried two things. Because it’s a coffee series, I started with coffee, and I will say it’s not the perfect one I was looking for because I have tried coffee at more places as well.
But as I demanded, it was froth-free.
The second thing I tried was Hello Yellow. It was from their juice section—a pineapple, chia seeds, and black salt mix. It was amazing in taste and totally energising as well.
So, I think the taste is overall good. Maybe in the future, I will visit the café again and update my experience by tasting more of what they offer.
When it comes to the prices of the café, the overall pricing matches the current café culture pricing. ₹220 is what I paid for the coffee, and ₹300+, I think, I paid for the juice, which I feel is a little pricey when it comes to juice and all.
But it was worth it because of the taste and the nice sitting place.
Their menu varies between ₹160+ and ₹800.
Sidewalk Café Taj Ganj: How Accessible the Place Is for People
The location of the café is not quite visible to people. It is near Taj Road, and the café is not directly visible. You have to search for it, or you are able to see it when you cross the road.
Even for me, it was a surprise because I was going somewhere else, and in between, I saw the café, so I decided to spend some time at the café.
And I spent almost the entire day there. I saw a few people, and some of them were tourists who were staying in nearby hotels.
Sidewalk Café Taj Ganj: How Comfortable It Is for Couples
I will say, like any other café, Sidewalk Café is also comfortable for couples. I have not seen many, but I have seen a few friends visit the café, and they enjoyed their time very much.
But I feel there is some short-time limitation at the café. While I was there, I was asked after around 3 hours, “Sir, anything else?”
Basically, it means you have spent a good amount of time according to the café, as you have ordered. It was also empty at that time, and being a traveller myself, I have seen this with some cafés. They have limits and time depending upon your spending.
But they said nothing after I mentioned that I had a meeting and would leave after that.
Final Thoughts on Café Sidewalk Taj Ganj
I think the café is overall good and vibey, but as it says it has a European theme, I feel there were a few things missing. As a customer, the time-spent limit, even when the café is empty, made me feel a little bit uncomfortable about that.
Overall, the café is good for spending some time and leaving on time.
In my experience, people visit cafés to spend their lonely time and enjoy some basic food because not everyone wants to go to a café just to eat. I can say that for sure.
